Blue Springs in Madison, Florida is a nice water hole for a very cold swim on a hot summer day. State owned now, there is a boardwalk in and around the springs so no more slip and sliding.
Important to some, a person can “cave dive” the springs. I like to dive, but I cannot bring myself to crawl into a cave with a flashlight and tank. Hence, I never extended my certification to include it. My rule–if something goes wrong– I should be able to kick myself to the surface within a minute.
Nevertheless, Blue Springs is tucked away off the backroads in Northern Florida and not too crowded. Enjoy.
