He works through the day
sun beaten and broken.
His muscles ache as he tugs and pulls.
He struggles so others may eat.
At day’s end, he is put away, forgotten, sweaty, and sore.
This old tool is only provided the necessities to work another day.
In the end, this old work horse last needs were addressed and a fragment of remorse displayed.
He did his duty.
