Shenandoah Valley, Appalachian Trail

Home of the Salamander Loop The Ni River trail is a delightful hike that passes by several vernal ponds and swamps which skirts the Ni River. The vernal ponds are a home to many salamanders, turtles, and other plants and animals.

Westmoreland State Park is located in Montross, Virginia, and it sits on the Potomac River’s Northern Neck.
